About the Course:

In this course, you will learn how to do embroidery and cross-stitch. The course is for beginners and people who already know some sewing. You will learn new sewing skills, practice them, and create your own projects. Each 90-minute class will teach you how to do different stitches and give you time to practice. 

What You Will Learn 

  • Introduction to Embroidery & Cross Stitch Basics 
  • Learn about the tools and materials you need for embroidery and cross-stitch. You will also learn the basic stitches for both types of sewing. 
  • Exploring Stitch Variations 
  • Learn new stitches in embroidery, like satin stitch, French knots, and chain stitch. You will also learn how to use different stitches in cross-stitch and how to work with grids. 
  • Designing Embroidery & Cross Stitch Patterns 
  • Learn how to make your own designs. You will choose colours and learn how to make your designs the right size. 
  • Techniques for Adding Texture and Detail 
  • Learn how to add extra details to your projects, like layering stitches, adding beads, and making your designs more interesting. 
  • Finishing Touches and Framing 
  • Learn how to finish your projects, like tying loose threads, adding borders, and framing your work to display it. 
  • Mini Project: Simple Cross-Stitch or Embroidery Design 
  • Do a small project using the basic stitches you have learned. 
  • Exploring Creative Ideas and Themes 
  • Get inspired by different ideas for your designs, like nature, text, or abstract patterns. 
  • Final Project Planning 
  • Plan your final project. You can choose to make an embroidery or cross-stitch piece. You will get advice on what materials and techniques to use. 
  • Final Project Execution & Showcase 
  • Finish your final project and show it to the class. You will get feedback and have the chance to talk about your work. 

Prerequisites 

This course is for everyone. You can join if you are a beginner or if you already know some sewing. 

Progression 

After finishing this course, you will be able to design and complete your own embroidery and cross-stitch projects. You will also have the skills to try more difficult designs and learn advanced techniques.
